Soon, the Vault Dweller finds that not just the Vault is at stake, but what's left of the Human race. To do so, they must venture out into the wasteland that used to be Southern California and fight savage raiders and bloodthirsty mutants.

Vault 13's Water Chip, responsible for the processing and recycling of the Vault's water supply, has failed and the Vault Dweller is tasked to find a new one before the Vault dies of thirst. Despite great advances in technology, by the mid-21st century, the world is locked into a series of brutal wars over non-renewable resources, culminating in a nuclear war in 2077 that destroys much of society.įallout takes place in 2161 and players control the "Vault Dweller", a resident of Vault 13, part of a sophisticated network of underground fallout shelters known as "Vaults" built by the United States Government before the Great War of 2077. The game is set in an alternate universe that deviates following World War II, where the United States remains culturally stagnant while developing advanced technology, resulting in a retro-futuristic world where the aesthetics and culture of the 1950s exists well into the 21st century. It was developed and published by Interplay Studios and released in October 1997. Lastly, it just feels cooler for me to use Energy weapons.Fallout: A Post-Nuclear Role-Playing Game, also known as simply Fallout, is a turn-based role-playing video game, the hugely influential first installment in the popular Fallout series. Not to mention now I only carry both Laser and Plasma pistols and rifles which gives me much more weight to spare. Also the rest of the Enclave soldiers went down with just 1-3 shots of my also trusty Laser Rifle. Hellfire troopers were hard as fuck to take down with the Shotgun or Chinese Assault Rifle even when I got Small Guns to 100 and kept shooting their head, but my trusty Plasma Rifle took them down in a few hits. Then someone told me that apparently the energy weapons are stronger, so on my next character I decided to specialize in Energy weapons and did not raise Small Guns even once. I never payed much attention to the energy weapons since the Laser Pistol kinda sucked and I never got the Plasma weapons.

Yeah, I loved having every weapon on me at all times. However it was a pain in the ass to be carrying one of every Small gun with me at all times. Not to mention all the weapons you can use for different situations, like busting out the shotgun in close range or the sniper rifle to sneak attack someone from afar. When I first started playing Fallout 3, of course I went for Small Guns since that's all that you can really use at the beginning.
